About Gillian
Acting is one of the most terrifying, exciting and rewarding professions in the world – and also one of the most competitive!
I am a classically trained actress/director with over 35 years’ experience in Theatre, Film, TV and Radio. Along the way, I have been fortunate enough to play fascinating roles, such as Desdemona to Ray Fearon’s Othello, Cordelia to Tom Courtney’s King Lear, Agnes in Peter Hall’s School for Wives and the title role in Hedda Gabler directed by Matthew Lloyd.
“I think there was something in me at a young age that was not worried about success but was worried about becoming a better actor”
-Paul Dano.
Although I worked in the industry from the age of 14, I always felt that I could strive to be better, so at the age of 20, I decided to go to drama school. I graduated three years later with a 1st Class BA Honours in Theatre and Dramatic Performance. More importantly, I felt confident in the art.
Over the years, I have acquired a substantial repertoire of performance skills, tips and techniques, which I am keen to share with you.
With a focus on voice, physical characterisation and script analysis, I guarantee that I will help you improve and master your craft. There are no shortcuts. It will be hard work. But it will be worth it!
